Auction result well in line with expectations
The work A moonlit landscape by John Atkinson Grimshaw was auctioned at Christies in New York in July this year. The price achieved of GBP 81,900.00 (€ 95,552.48) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 70,000.00 – 100,000.00. Admittedly, works by John Atkinson Grimshaw have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Liverpool Custom House And Wapping in December 2006 with an auction result of GBP 612,800.00 (€ 909,471.91).
