Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Autumn Morning by John Atkinson Grimshaw was auctioned at Christies in London in July last year. It changed hands for a price of GBP 138,600.00 (€ 165,513.02) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of GBP 100,000.00 – 150,000.00. Admittedly, works by John Atkinson Grimshaw have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Liverpool Custom House And Wapping in December 2006 with an auction result of GBP 612,800.00 (€ 909,471.91).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Autumn Morning von John Atkinson Grimshaw kam im Juli letzten Jahres bei Christies in London zur Auktion. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von GBP 138.600,00 (€ 165.513,02) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 100.000,00 – 150.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von John Atkinson Grimshaw auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Liverpool Custom House And Wapping im Dezember 2006 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 612.800,00 (€ 909.471,91).
