This artwork by John Arnold Wheeler achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in London in May 2007. In the Sporting Art, Wildlife & Dogs auction, the work Best friends; and Hounds on the scent sold for GBP 1,920.00 (€ 2,825.41) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 1,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by John Arnold Wheeler achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A Mahogany Painted Canvas Four-Panel Screen in June 2001 with an auction result of USD 42,300.00 (€ 49,917.39).

In der Auktion Sporting Art, Wildlife & Dogs wurde die Arbeit Best friends; and Hounds on the scent für GBP 1.920,00 (€ 2.825,41) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 1.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von John Arnold Wheeler erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit A Mahogany Painted Canvas Four-Panel Screen im Juni 2001 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 42.300,00 (€ 49.917,39).
