Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Irresistible Impulse by Johannes Wohnseifer was auctioned at Sothebys in London in March 2021, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of GBP 2,000.00 – 3,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for GBP 882.00 (€ 1,036.12). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Johannes Wohnseifer achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Beyoncé Painting (RAL 8003 - Lehmbraun) in November 2009 with an auction result of GBP 23,750.00 (€ 25,991.31).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Irresistible Impulse von Johannes Wohnseifer im März 2021 bei Sothebys in London versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 2.000,00 – 3.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für GBP 882,00 (€ 1.036,12) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Johannes Wohnseifer erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Beyoncé Painting (RAL 8003 - Lehmbraun) im November 2009 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 23.750,00 (€ 25.991,31).
