Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Studie für Eva-Plastik (Study for Eva Plastic) by Johannes Itten was auctioned at Sothebys in Cologne in April last year. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of EUR 4,000.00 – 6,000.00, the actual price achieved of EUR 4,410.00 could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Johannes Itten achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Zweiklang. 1964. in December 2017 with an auction result of CHF 102,500.00 (€ 87,553.86).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Studie für Eva-Plastik (Study for Eva Plastic) von Johannes Itten kam im April letzten Jahres bei Sothebys in Köln zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von EUR 4.000,00 – 6.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von EUR 4.410,00 konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Johannes Itten erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Zweiklang. 1964. im Dezember 2017 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von CHF 102.500,00 (€ 87.553,86).
