Upper estimated price slightly exceeded

Here, the upper estimate of EUR 8,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for EUR 8,125.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Johannes Hermanus Barend Koekkoek achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Bringing In The Catch in October 2006 with an auction result of EUR 90,000.00.
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit A capriccio view with ships on the Nieuwe Maas, Rotterdam von Johannes Hermanus Barend Koekkoek kam im Mai 2016 bei Christies in Amsterdam zur Auktion. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von EUR 8.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für EUR 8.125,00 einen neuen Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Johannes Hermanus Barend Koekkoek erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Bringing In The Catch im Oktober 2006 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 90.000,00.
