In the Nineteen to Now, Art from the 19th, 20th and the 21st Centuries auction, the work Activities on a canal in a Dutch town sold for EUR 12,500.00 - well above the upper estimate of EUR 6,000.00. Admittedly, works by Johannes Franciscus Spohler have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work A busy town in winter; and Gentlemen by an Amsterdam canal in summer in October 2005 with an auction result of EUR 62,400.00.
