Auction result well in line with expectations
In September 2006 Christies in London held the auction 19th Century European Art Including Russian Pictures, which included the work A woodland stream by Johannes Boesen. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 2,000.00 – 3,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 2,160.00 (€ 3,186.46) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Johannes Boesen have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work A Faggot Gatherer on a Country Lane in October 2004 with an auction result of USD 19,120.00 (€ 15,000.78).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im September 2006 führte Christies in London die Auktion 19th Century European Art Including Russian Pictures durch, in der auch die Arbeit A woodland stream von Johannes Boesen zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 2.000,00 – 3.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 2.160,00 (€ 3.186,46) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Johannes Boesen auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit A Faggot Gatherer on a Country Lane im Oktober 2004 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 19.120,00 (€ 15.000,78).
