The upper estimate was set at a - in retrospect quite modest - GBP 2,000.00 but the actual price achieved was more than six times as high at GBP 12,500.00 (€ 16,985.38). Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Johann Heinrich Roos; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot A Huntsman Firing A Pistol In A Rocky Landscape sold at auction in January 2007 with the realized price of USD 42,000.00 (€ 32,312.66).
