This artwork by Johann Gottfried Steffan achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in Zurich in June 2020. In the Swiss Made UNLOCKED auction, the work Meiringen, Waldinnerers sold for CHF 13,750.00 (€ 12,932.17) - well above the upper estimate of CHF 7,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Johann Gottfried Steffan - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Am Klönsee in den Glarneralpen. 1870., which sold at auction in December 2011 for CHF 60,000.00 (€ 49,334.77).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 96 % übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Johann Gottfried Steffan erzielte im Juni 2020 bei Sothebys in Zürich einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Swiss Made UNLOCKED wurde die Arbeit Meiringen, Waldinnerers für CHF 13.750,00 (€ 12.932,17) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von CHF 7.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Johann Gottfried Steffan mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Am Klönsee in den Glarneralpen. 1870. beobachtet, die im Dezember 2011 für CHF 60.000,00 (€ 49.334,77) versteigert wurde.
