This artwork by Johann Gottfried Steffan achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in Zurich in June 2020. In the Swiss Made UNLOCKED auction, the work Abend (Umgegend Von Glarus), 1881 sold for CHF 10,625.00 (€ 9,993.04) - well above the upper estimate of CHF 6,000.00. Admittedly, works by Johann Gottfried Steffan have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Am Klönsee in den Glarneralpen. 1870. in December 2011 with an auction result of CHF 60,000.00 (€ 49,334.77).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 77 % übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Johann Gottfried Steffan erzielte im Juni 2020 bei Sothebys in Zürich einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Swiss Made UNLOCKED wurde die Arbeit Abend (Umgegend Von Glarus), 1881 für CHF 10.625,00 (€ 9.993,04) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von CHF 6.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Johann Gottfried Steffan auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Am Klönsee in den Glarneralpen. 1870. im Dezember 2011 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von CHF 60.000,00 (€ 49.334,77).
