This artwork by Johann Georg Platzer achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in London in December 2002. In the OLD MASTER PICTURES auction, the work A young couple and a huntsman in a woodland garden; and An old man, his wife and her lover in an interior sold for GBP 199,150.00 (€ 305,705.22) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 80,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Johann Georg Platzer; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Allegory of the Five Senses sold at auction in April 2007 with the realized price of GBP 276,000.00 (€ 404,099.56).

Dieses Kunstwerk von Johann Georg Platzer erzielte im Dezember 2002 bei Christies in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion OLD MASTER PICTURES wurde die Arbeit A young couple and a huntsman in a woodland garden; and An old man, his wife and her lover in an interior für GBP 199.150,00 (€ 305.705,22) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 80.000,00. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Johann Georg Platzer; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit Allegory of the Five Senses im April 2007 mit dem Hammerpreis von GBP 276.000,00 (€ 404.099,56).
