Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Johann Georg Meyer achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in New York in February 2019. In the 19th Century European Art auction, the work German Blind Man'S Bluff sold for USD 23,750.00 (€ 20,871.78) - well above the upper estimate of USD 8,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Johann Georg Meyer - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Sleeping beauty, which sold at auction in January 2008 for GBP 46,100.00 (€ 61,799.04).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Johann Georg Meyer erzielte im Februar 2019 bei Sothebys in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion 19th Century European Art wurde die Arbeit German Blind Man'S Bluff für USD 23.750,00 (€ 20.871,78) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 8.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Johann Georg Meyer mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Sleeping beauty beobachtet, die im Januar 2008 für GBP 46.100,00 (€ 61.799,04) versteigert wurde.
