In February 2018 Sothebys in New York held the auction Fine Old Master & 19th Century European Art, which included the work German meditation by Johann Georg Meyer. The result of USD 5,000.00 (€ 4,094.67) was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of USD 5,000.00 – 7,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Johann Georg Meyer achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Sleeping beauty in January 2008 with an auction result of GBP 46,100.00 (€ 61,799.04).
Zuschlag beim unteren Schätzpreis
Im Februar 2018 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion Fine Old Master & 19th Century European Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit German meditation von Johann Georg Meyer zur Versteigerung kam. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von USD 5.000,00 (€ 4.094,67) entsprach exakt dem unteren Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 5.000,00 – 7.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Johann Georg Meyer erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Sleeping beauty im Januar 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 46.100,00 (€ 61.799,04).
