Upper estimate price exceeded by 47 %.
In January last year Sothebys in New York held the auction Old Master and British Works on Paper, which included the work A horse by Johann Elias Ridinger. The »bidding war« ended at USD 1,764.00 (€ 1,573.31), 47% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Johann Elias Ridinger achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Sixteen Scenes Of The Breaking And Schooling Of Horses in July 2010 with an auction result of GBP 61,250.00 (€ 73,646.22).
