Auction result well in line with expectations
In January 2008 Sothebys in New York held the auction Important Old Master Paintings Including European Works of Art, which included the work Young Card Players And A Violinist By A Tree by Johann Conrad Seekatz. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 20,000.00 – 30,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 21,250.00 (€ 14,318.44) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Johann Conrad Seekatz have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Bäuerliche Szene vor einem Ziehbrunnen. Um 1765. in September 2006 with an auction result of CHF 177,500.00 (€ 111,883.62).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Januar 2008 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion Important Old Master Paintings Including European Works of Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Young Card Players And A Violinist By A Tree von Johann Conrad Seekatz zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 20.000,00 – 30.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 21.250,00 (€ 14.318,44) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Johann Conrad Seekatz auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Bäuerliche Szene vor einem Ziehbrunnen. Um 1765. im September 2006 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von CHF 177.500,00 (€ 111.883,62).
