Auction result well in line with expectations

The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 8,000.00 – 12,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 8,125.00 (€ 10,356.46) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Johann Conrad Seekatz achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Bäuerliche Szene vor einem Ziehbrunnen. Um 1765. in September 2006 with an auction result of CHF 177,500.00 (€ 111,883.62).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Young Boys Playing Cards And The Violin In A Landscape von Johann Conrad Seekatz kam im Oktober 2008 bei Sothebys in London zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 8.000,00 – 12.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 8.125,00 (€ 10.356,46) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Johann Conrad Seekatz erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Bäuerliche Szene vor einem Ziehbrunnen. Um 1765. im September 2006 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von CHF 177.500,00 (€ 111.883,62).
