Auction result well in line with expectations
In April 2017 Sothebys in New York held the auction American Art, which included the work Snowy Day, City Hall by Johann Berthelsen. It changed hands for a price of USD 11,250.00 (€ 10,325.84) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of USD 8,000.00 – 12,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Johann Berthelsen - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Flatiron Building, which sold at auction in March 2007 for USD 28,800.00 (€ 21,534.32).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im April 2017 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion American Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Snowy Day, City Hall von Johann Berthelsen zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von USD 11.250,00 (€ 10.325,84) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 8.000,00 – 12.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Johann Berthelsen mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Flatiron Building beobachtet, die im März 2007 für USD 28.800,00 (€ 21.534,32) versteigert wurde.
