The work 5th Avenue Looking South From 59th Street (Nocturne) by Johann Berthelsen was sold in the American Art auction at Bonhams in Los Angeles in November this year. It achieved a price of USD 7,680.00 (€ 7,040.70), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 54%. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Johann Berthelsen - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Flatiron Building, which sold at auction in March 2007 for USD 28,800.00 (€ 21,534.32).

Die Arbeit 5th Avenue Looking South From 59th Street (Nocturne) von Johann Berthelsen wurde im November diesen Jahres in der Auktion American Art bei Bonhams in Los Angeles versteigert. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von USD 7.680,00 (€ 7.040,70) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 54%. Für andere Arbeiten von Johann Berthelsen mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Flatiron Building beobachtet, die im März 2007 für USD 28.800,00 (€ 21.534,32) versteigert wurde.
