Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In January 2000 Christies in New York held the auction Important Old Master Paintings, which included the work A monkey with grapes, peaches, a melon and other fruit on a stone ledge by Johann Amandus Winck. Here, the upper estimate of USD 20,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for USD 20,700.00 (€ 21,215.54). Admittedly, works by Johann Amandus Winck have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Trompe l'oeils: Garlands of flowers hanging from ribbons on nails over feigned sculpted cartouches, above ledges with fruit, a squirrel and a monkey in May 2001 with an auction result of NLG 279,000.00 (€ 134,401.77).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im Januar 2000 führte Christies in New York die Auktion Important Old Master Paintings durch, in der auch die Arbeit A monkey with grapes, peaches, a melon and other fruit on a stone ledge von Johann Amandus Winck zur Versteigerung kam.
