Auction result well in line with expectations
The work A monkey with grapes, peaches, a melon and other fruit on a stone ledge by Johann Amandus Winck was sold in the Important Old Master PaintingsPart II auction at Christies in New York in January 2005. The price achieved of USD 16,800.00 (€ 12,874.55) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 15,000.00 – 20,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Johann Amandus Winck achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Trompe l'oeils: Garlands of flowers hanging from ribbons on nails over feigned sculpted cartouches, above ledges with fruit, a squirrel and a monkey in May 2001 with an auction result of NLG 279,000.00 (€ 134,401.77).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit A monkey with grapes, peaches, a melon and other fruit on a stone ledge von Johann Amandus Winck wurde im Januar 2005 in der Auktion Important Old Master PaintingsPart II bei Christies in New York versteigert. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Trompe l'oeils: Garlands of flowers hanging from ribbons on nails over feigned sculpted cartouches, above ledges with fruit, a squirrel and a monkey im Mai 2001 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von NLG 279.000,00 (€ 134.401,77).
