In May 2008 Sothebys in New York held the auction Latin American Art, which included the work Guitarra by Joaquín Torres-García. The »bidding war« ended at USD 241,000.00 (€ 154,884.32), 61% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Joaquín Torres-García achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Construcción En Blanco in May 2019 with an auction result of USD 3,380,000.00 (€ 3,031,662.03).

Im Mai 2008 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion Latin American Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Guitarra von Joaquín Torres-García zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 241.000,00 (€ 154.884,32) und damit 61% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Joaquín Torres-García erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Construcción En Blanco im Mai 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 3.380.000,00 (€ 3.031.662,03).
