Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Cinco juguetes by Joaquín Torres-García was sold in the Latin American Art auction at Christies in New York in March last year. The price achieved of USD 52,920.00 (€ 47,705.76) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 40,000.00 – 60,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Joaquín Torres-García achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Construcción En Blanco in May 2019 with an auction result of USD 3,380,000.00 (€ 3,031,662.03).

Die Arbeit Cinco juguetes von Joaquín Torres-García wurde im März letzten Jahres in der Auktion Latin American Art bei Christies in New York versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 52.920,00 (€ 47.705,76) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 40.000,00 – 60.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Joaquín Torres-García erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Construcción En Blanco im Mai 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 3.380.000,00 (€ 3.031.662,03).
