Auction result well in line with expectations
In December last year Phillips in London held the auction New Now, which included the work Untitled (Red Hair) by Jim Shaw. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 10,000.00 – 15,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 10,080.00 (€ 11,379.34) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Jim Shaw achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Dr. Goldfoot And His Bikini Bombs in March 2013 with an auction result of USD 206,500.00 (€ 161,126.72).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Dezember letzten Jahres führte Phillips in London die Auktion New Now durch, in der auch die Arbeit Untitled (Red Hair) von Jim Shaw zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 10.000,00 – 15.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 10.080,00 (€ 11.379,34) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Jim Shaw erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Dr. Goldfoot And His Bikini Bombs im März 2013 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 206.500,00 (€ 161.126,72).
