Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Flowers, Birds And Insects by Jiang Pu was auctioned at Christies in Hong Kong in July 2003, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of HKD 50,000.00 – 60,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for HKD 47,800.00 (€ 4,978.03). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Jiang Pu achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Scenes Of Dengwei Mountain in September 2016 with an auction result of USD 586,000.00 (€ 521,445.10).
