Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Five-character Calligraphic Couplet in Clerical Script by Ji Shouzheng was auctioned at Christies in Hong Kong in May 2019. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of HKD 20,000.00 – 40,000.00, the actual price achieved of HKD 25,000.00 (€ 2,861.24) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Ji Shouzheng - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Eight-Character Couplet In Bronze Scription, which sold at auction in April 2015 for HKD 63,250.00 (€ 7,309.85).
