Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In February last year Bonhams in London held the auction Sketches from Baghdad, which included the work The Farmer by Jewad Selim. Here, the upper estimate of GBP 500.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for GBP 535.50 (€ 640.22). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Jewad Selim achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Good and Evil, An Abstraction in November 2021 with an auction result of GBP 838,750.00 (€ 984,771.42).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im Februar letzten Jahres führte Bonhams in London die Auktion Sketches from Baghdad durch, in der auch die Arbeit The Farmer von Jewad Selim zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von GBP 500,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für GBP 535,50 (€ 640,22) einen neuen Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Jewad Selim erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Good and Evil, An Abstraction im November 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 838.750,00 (€ 984.771,42).
