Auction result well in line with expectations
In November last year Bonhams in London held the auction Modern and Contemporary Middle Eastern Art including Baghdadiyat Part IIIThe Finale, which included the work Self Portrait with Guitar by Jewad Selim. It changed hands for a price of GBP 44,400.00 (€ 51,449.46) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of GBP 25,000.00 – 50,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Jewad Selim achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Good and Evil, An Abstraction in November 2021 with an auction result of GBP 838,750.00 (€ 984,771.42).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im November letzten Jahres führte Bonhams in London die Auktion Modern and Contemporary Middle Eastern Art including Baghdadiyat Part IIIThe Finale durch, in der auch die Arbeit Self Portrait with Guitar von Jewad Selim zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von GBP 44.400,00 (€ 51.449,46) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 25.000,00 – 50.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Jewad Selim erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Good and Evil, An Abstraction im November 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 838.750,00 (€ 984.771,42).
