Auction result well in line with expectations
In October 2018 Sothebys in London held the auction 20th Century Art / Middle East, which included the work Iraqiback Gardens - Camden Town by Jewad Selim. The price achieved of GBP 93,750.00 (€ 105,721.08) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 80,000.00 – 120,000.00. Admittedly, works by Jewad Selim have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Good and Evil, An Abstraction in November 2021 with an auction result of GBP 838,750.00 (€ 984,771.42).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Oktober 2018 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion 20th Century Art / Middle East durch, in der auch die Arbeit Iraqiback Gardens - Camden Town von Jewad Selim zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 93.750,00 (€ 105.721,08) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 80.000,00 – 120.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Jewad Selim auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Good and Evil, An Abstraction im November 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 838.750,00 (€ 984.771,42).
