Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Jewad Selim achieved an unexpectedly high price at Bonhams in London in February last year. In the Sketches from Baghdad auction, the work Al-Saqi (The Water vendor in Blue) sold for GBP 2,295.00 (€ 2,743.82) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 1,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Jewad Selim achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Good and Evil, An Abstraction in November 2021 with an auction result of GBP 838,750.00 (€ 984,771.42).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Jewad Selim erzielte im Februar letzten Jahres bei Bonhams in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Sketches from Baghdad wurde die Arbeit Al-Saqi (The Water vendor in Blue) für GBP 2.295,00 (€ 2.743,82) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 1.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Jewad Selim erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Good and Evil, An Abstraction im November 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 838.750,00 (€ 984.771,42).
