Artwork auctioned at four times the upper estimate price
The work Napoleon on horseback leading his troops by Jerzy Kossak was worth GBP 7,012.50 (€ 8,314.11) to a buyer in March last year. This price was achieved in the auction British and European Art at Bonhams in London and exceeded the previously set upper estimate of GBP 1,500.00 many times over. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Jerzy Kossak - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Napoleon outside Moscow, which sold at auction in December 2021 for SEK 230,000.00 (€ 22,435.06).

Die Arbeit Napoleon on horseback leading his troops von Jerzy Kossak war einem Käufer im März letzten Jahres GBP 7.012,50 (€ 8.314,11) wert. Dieser Preise wurde in der Auktion British and European Art bei Bonhams in London erzielt und übertraf den zuvor angesetzten oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 1.500,00 um ein Vielfaches. Für andere Arbeiten von Jerzy Kossak mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Napoleon outside Moscow beobachtet, die im Dezember 2021 für SEK 230.000,00 (€ 22.435,06) versteigert wurde.
