The work Napoleon on horseback leading his troops by Jerzy Kossak was worth GBP 7,012.50 (€ 8,314.11) to a buyer in March last year. This price was achieved in the auction British and European Art at Bonhams in London and exceeded the previously set upper estimate of GBP 1,500.00 many times over. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Jerzy Kossak - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Napoleon outside Moscow, which sold at auction in December 2021 for SEK 230,000.00 (€ 22,435.06).
