Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work The Italian Procession by Jerome Myers was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in September 2008, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 10,000.00 – 15,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 8,125.00 (€ 5,770.19). Admittedly, works by Jerome Myers have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The Playground in October 2000 with an auction result of USD 30,550.00 (€ 36,000.47).
