Auction result well in line with expectations
In December 2008 Christies in London held the auction Important Portrait Miniatures and Gold Boxes, which included the work A pair of miniatures: a young lady, in slate blue décolleté dress with white embroidery decorating the ruched sleeves and double collar, white lace about the neckline, black satin stole, gem-set gold watch chain necklace, her chestnut hair dressed by Jeremiah David Alexander Fiorino. The price achieved of GBP 3,125.00 (€ 3,282.16) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 2,500.00 – 3,500.00. Other works by Jeremiah David Alexander Fiorino have already achieved higher auction prices, for example, in November 2000 the work Princess Maria Amalia of Saxony, facing left in lavender-coloured dress with high standing lace collar, double pearl necklace, pearl set tiara with large white ostrich plumes in her curled brown hair was auctioned for GBP 3,290.00 (€ 5,377.38).
