Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Flying White Cube by Jeppe Hein was auctioned at Phillips in London in December 2021, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of GBP 3,000.00 – 5,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for GBP 1,197.00 (€ 1,427.77). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Jeppe Hein achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work 3-Dimensional Circle Illuminated in May this year with an auction result of USD 120,650.00 (€ 113,243.85).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Flying White Cube von Jeppe Hein im Dezember 2021 bei Phillips in London versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 3.000,00 – 5.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für GBP 1.197,00 (€ 1.427,77) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Jeppe Hein erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit 3-Dimensional Circle Illuminated im Mai diesen Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 120.650,00 (€ 113.243,85).
