Sold at the upper estimate price
The work French Le Retour Des Reliques by Jehan-Georges Vibert was sold in the 19th Century European Art auction at Sothebys in New York in November 2014. The auction ended at the price of USD 100,000.00 (€ 80,398.78), which exactly corresponded to the upper end of the estimated price range of USD 70,000.00 – 100,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Jehan-Georges Vibert achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work French Gulliver And The Lilliputians in April 2008 with an auction result of USD 1,497,000.00 (€ 961,587.87).
