Auction result misses estimated price range
In July 2020 a collector was able to acquire the work A visit to Figaro by Jehan-Georges Vibert for USD 4,825.00 (€ 4,098.01). This price was achieved in the auction 19th Century European Paintings at Bonhams in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 5,000.00 – 7,000.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Jehan-Georges Vibert achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work French Gulliver And The Lilliputians in April 2008 with an auction result of USD 1,497,000.00 (€ 961,587.87).
