Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Architectural subjects and Golf Ball, 2001-2003 by Jefferson Hayman was auctioned at Christies in New York in February 2009, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 3,000.00 – 5,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 1,625.00 (€ 1,283.37). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Jefferson Hayman - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work 'Winter Lemon', which sold at auction in October this year for USD 3,200.00 (€ 3,028.01).
