Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Duffy Square, Times Square, New York City by Jeff Chien-Hsing Liao was auctioned at Bonhams in New York in August last year, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 1,500.00 – 2,500.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 637.50 (€ 633.38). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Jeff Chien-Hsing Liao achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work LIRR, Hunters Point, 2004 in October 2010 with an auction result of USD 11,250.00 (€ 8,097.02).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Duffy Square, Times Square, New York City von Jeff Chien-Hsing Liao im August letzten Jahres bei Bonhams in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 1.500,00 – 2.500,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 637,50 (€ 633,38) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Jeff Chien-Hsing Liao erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit LIRR, Hunters Point, 2004 im Oktober 2010 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 11.250,00 (€ 8.097,02).
