Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Jeanne Dunning achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in New York in July 2012. In the Christie's Interiors auction, the work Red Detail, 1990 sold for USD 3,250.00 (€ 2,639.06) - well above the upper estimate of USD 1,200.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Jeanne Dunning - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Neck, 1990; And Detail #16, 1992, which sold at auction in April 2006 for USD 10,200.00 (€ 8,079.85).
