In June 2009 a collector was able to acquire the work Study For The Central Figure In The Ceiling Of The Palais De La Legion D'Honneur by Jean-Paul Laurens for USD 3,750.00 (€ 2,674.75). This price was achieved in the auction Old Master & 19th Century European Art at Sothebys in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 4,000.00 – 6,000.00 set by the auction house.
