Auction result misses estimated price range
In December 2015 a collector was able to acquire the work Répos Sur Le Chemin De La Loche, Ouzouer-Sur-Loire, France by Jean-Paul Laurens for GBP 5,625.00 (€ 7,638.48). This price was achieved in the auction 19th Century European & Orientalist Art at Christies in London and was even below the estimate range of GBP 6,000.00 – 8,000.00 set by the auction house. Other works by Jean-Paul Laurens have also sold for higher prices; the highest price we have seen at auction so far was achieved in January 2017 by the work Vive Le Roi at USD 16,250.00 (€ 15,054.66).
