Auction result well in line with expectations
In October this year Christies in London held the auction 20th/21st Century: London Evening Sale, which included the work Future Sciences Versus the Man by Jean-Michel Basquiat. The price achieved of GBP 10,430,000.00 (€ 11,976,537.66) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 9,000,000.00 – 12,000,000.00. Admittedly, works by Jean-Michel Basquiat have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work without title in May 2017 with an auction result of USD 110,487,500.00 (€ 98,333,481.67).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Oktober diesen Jahres führte Christies in London die Auktion 20th/21st Century: London Evening Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit Future Sciences Versus the Man von Jean-Michel Basquiat zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 10.430.000,00 (€ 11.976.537,66) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 9.000.000,00 – 12.000.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Jean-Michel Basquiat auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit ohne Titel im Mai 2017 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 110.487.500,00 (€ 98.333.481,67).
