Auction result well in line with expectations
The work The interior of a vaulted arcade looking onto a colonnaded court by Jean Lemaire was auctioned at Christies in London in December 2000. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 800.00 – 1,200.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 822.50 (€ 1,310.24) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Jean Lemaire achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Theseus recovering his father's sword in April 2000 with an auction result of GBP 78,550.00 (€ 134,474.42).

Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 800,00 – 1.200,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 822,50 (€ 1.310,24) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen.
