The work An Architectural Capriccio With Ancient Ruins, A Triumphal Arch And An Haut-Relief Sculpture, With The Story Of Mercury And Argus by Jean Lemaire was sold in the Old Master & British Paintings Day Sale auction at Sothebys in London in July 2013. The result of GBP 30,000.00 (€ 34,280.23) was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 30,000.00 – 40,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Jean Lemaire - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Theseus recovering his father's sword, which sold at auction in April 2000 for GBP 78,550.00 (€ 134,474.42).
