The work Portrait of George Hay (1753-1804), 7th Marquess of Tweeddale, full-length, in a blue coat, a gold waistcoat and a white stock, holding a top hat and a cane, his peer's robes on the chair beside him, with a hound, a ship at sea beyond by Jean Laurent Mosnier was sold in the Old Master & British Paintings Day Sale auction at Christies in London in July 2014. Here, the upper estimate of GBP 50,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for GBP 52,500.00 (€ 66,219.01). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Jean Laurent Mosnier - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Portrait Of Arkady Alexandrovich Suvorov (1784-1811), which sold at auction in June 2014 for GBP 108,100.00 (€ 135,065.78).

Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von GBP 50.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für GBP 52.500,00 (€ 66.219,01) einen neuen Besitzer. Für andere Arbeiten von Jean Laurent Mosnier mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Portrait Of Arkady Alexandrovich Suvorov (1784-1811) beobachtet, die im Juni 2014 für GBP 108.100,00 (€ 135.065,78) versteigert wurde.
