Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Twilight by Jean-Joseph Benjamin-Constant was sold in the The Orientalist Sale auction at Sothebys in London in March last year. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 10,000.00 – 15,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 10,710.00 (€ 12,697.91) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Jean-Joseph Benjamin-Constant achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The King Of Morocco Leaving To Receive A European Ambassador in October 2019 with an auction result of GBP 375,000.00 (€ 434,973.11).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Twilight von Jean-Joseph Benjamin-Constant wurde im März letzten Jahres in der Auktion The Orientalist Sale bei Sothebys in London versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 10.000,00 – 15.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 10.710,00 (€ 12.697,91) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Jean-Joseph Benjamin-Constant erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The King Of Morocco Leaving To Receive A European Ambassador im Oktober 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 375.000,00 (€ 434.973,11).
