Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In February this year Artcurial in Paris held the auction Comic Strips, which included the work Un Cycliste dans la nuit by Jean-Jacques Sempé. The »bidding war« ended at EUR 8,134.00 16% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Jean-Jacques Sempé have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work 4th of July in June 2021 with an auction result of EUR 69,742.00.
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im Februar diesen Jahres führte Artcurial in Paris die Auktion Comic Strips durch, in der auch die Arbeit Un Cycliste dans la nuit von Jean-Jacques Sempé zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von EUR 8.134,00 und damit 16% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Jean-Jacques Sempé auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit 4th of July im Juni 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 69.742,00.
