A top price for Jean-Jacques Henner - as previously expected
The work French la Magdeleine by Jean-Jacques Henner was sold in the 19th Century European Paintings auction at Sothebys in London in December 2015. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 40,000.00 – 60,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 43,750.00 (€ 59,410.40) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Even if this result could not surprise positively, French la Magdeleine is the most expensive artwork by Jean-Jacques Henner that we have observed at auctions so far.
