Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Fren saint Sébastien by Jean-Jacques Henner was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in February 2018. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 4,000.00 – 6,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 4,375.00 (€ 3,582.84) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Jean-Jacques Henner achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work French la Magdeleine in December 2015 with an auction result of GBP 43,750.00 (€ 59,410.40).
