Artwork auctioned at seven times the upper estimate price
The work Monte-Carlo by Jean-Gabriel Domergue was worth GBP 6,120.00 (€ 7,316.85) to a buyer in February last year. This price was achieved in the auction 19th and 20th Century Vintage Posters at Bonhams in London and exceeded the previously set upper estimate of GBP 800.00 many times over. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Jean-Gabriel Domergue achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Les danseuses de French Cancan in November 2008 with an auction result of USD 164,500.00 (€ 129,588.78).

Die Arbeit Monte-Carlo von Jean-Gabriel Domergue war einem Käufer im Februar letzten Jahres GBP 6.120,00 (€ 7.316,85) wert. Dieser Preise wurde in der Auktion 19th and 20th Century Vintage Posters bei Bonhams in London erzielt und übertraf den zuvor angesetzten oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 800,00 um ein Vielfaches. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Jean-Gabriel Domergue erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Les danseuses de French Cancan im November 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 164.500,00 (€ 129.588,78).
